Finance Minister Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) signed a bill on Wednesday for a government company to manage the tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron. Every year more and more people visit the gravesite for the annual pilgrimage on the holiday of Lag BaOmer. The new order may alleviate many logistic problems stemming from the half a million people spending all night at the small northern location. Bar Yochai is credited with being a forefather of the Kabbalah. The traditional all-night musical celebration has inspired people to visit in mass numbers, but also caused traffic jams and others issues.
