A "jam session" of local Jewish and Arab musicians is being planned for Saturday night in the Gush Etzion Jewish community of Tekoa located in the Judea region. Organizer Maria "Miri" Lemberg told Arutz Sheva news, "the negotiations are all just talk. Music is the real way to get to know your neighbors." Born in Russia, and raised in Tekoa, Lemberg says she is not a "smolani" or leftist, and has suffered the loss of friends killed by terrorists. "The Jews of Judea and Samaria know the Arabs better that those in Tel Aviv," she stated. While condemning the recent rash of rock and firebomb attacks, she is hoping locals Jews and Arabs will unite on a personal level. "You don't achieve peace by talking about peace all the time, but by actually getting to know each other," she stated.
The event has the backing of local police and Israel Defense Force personnel. It is scheduled for Saturday night December 7th. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org.
