Culture Minister Limor Livnat on Tuesday night expressed deep sorrow and great pain over the death of actor and comedian Sefi Rivlin.
“Sefi was a great actor and a huge comedian, who for decades amazed us with his extraordinary talent on stage and on screen,” she said. “I have also known Sefi for many years as a Likud member who was never afraid to express his political views and who always stepped up to assist the Likud in the elections."
Livnat continued, “Four years ago, I offered to Sefi to become a member of the Council for Culture and the Arts, and he immediately agreed and contributed his extensive knowledge to its meetings. Sefi fought cancer for years, but with his unforgettable smile and his blue eyes he continued to laugh and did not give up. We all prayed for his recovery. His passing is a great loss to the world of Israeli culture and to the Israeli public who loved him so much. I liked Sefi very much and today I am lamenting his passing along with all of Israel. I send my condolences to his family. May his memory be for a blessing.”
