Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Tuesday-morning trading with modest losses. About an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,225.37, down .24 percent, while the TA 100 declined .28 percent to 1,226.27, including a drop of a quarter of a percent to 1,368.87 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,033.34, up .56 percent.
The lone bright spot was the biomed index, which gained .13 percent to 985.11, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 326.37, down .66 percent. The oil and natural-gas stocks slipped .12 percent to 1,314.85, while the real-estate index stood at 379.23, down .38 percent, and the communications issues lost four tenths of a percent to 790.41. The insurance stocks stood at 1,519.59, down .73 percent as the financial institutions fell 1.05 percent to 1,278.06, including a loss of .99 percent to 1,322.33 by the bank index.
