Carjacking in Kalkilye

A 70-year-old Israeli suffered light wounds and lost his car to attackers, Monday morning, when he entered the square at the entrance to the western Shomron (Samaria) Palestinian Authority (PA) city of Kalkilye to gather workers. The attackers were two local residents he did not know.

Kalkilye is just east of the 1949 Armistice line. The Israeli was taken to Meir Hospital on the Israeli side of the line for treatment. The police took the opportunity to remind the public that entry to Area A of the PA is prohibited without prior permission and entry to Area B is dangerous and not recommended.
