UTJ: Rabbi Verdiger Was the Epitome of a Loyal Public Servant


Members of the United Torah Judaism faction in the Knesset expressed their regrets over the passing of Rabbi Avraham Verdiger, obm, who served as an MK for many years, as well as one of heads of the Agudat Yisrael Movement.

In a statement given today, wherein they expressed their condolences to the family, they said,"The late Rabbi Verdiger, obm, served as a member of Knesset for our faction for many years. He played important and varied roles in government ministries, also serving as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset. Rabbi Verdiger was an accomplished man, never idle, and served as the paradigm of a loyal and trustworthy public servant. The United Torah Judaism party expresses its condolences to his wife and family."

Rabbi Verdiger passed away at Jerusalem's Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center. He was 93 years old at the time of his demise.
