Rebbetzin Bracha Kapach Remembered for Charity Work

Rebbetzin Bracha Kapach (also spelled Qafih) passed away in her early 90's on Tuesday. In 1999 she won the Israel Prize for her decades of charity work which included her Sgulat Naomi charitable aid society. Born in Yemen, she was a resident of Jerusalem's historic Nachlaot neighborhood where she packaged food, collected donations of wedding gowns and organized numerous other charity projects. She won numerous other awards for her work.

Her husband Rabbi Yosef Kapach, who passed away in 2000, also won the Israel Prize for Torah scholarship. They are so far the only husband and wife team to have both the prestigious award.
