The Knesset approved on Monday evening the first reading of an amendment to the law which determines eligibility to vote in the elections. The amendment was authored by MKs Yariv Levin (Likud-Yisrael Beytenu) and David Tzur (Hatnua).
The amendment would allow Israelis who are on an official mission outside of Israel to vote in the elections. These include emissaries of the Jewish Agency, World Zionist Organization, the Jewish National Fund or Keren Hayesod. The amendment stipulates that they will be allowed to vote provided they are on a mission abroad for a period of at least one year.
