The editor of a Jewish-French newspaper assessed that the ties formed between France and Israel are good for both sides.
In an interview with Arutz Sheva, the Toulouse-born Avraham Azoulai, editor of Le P'tit Hebdo, commented, “As one who used to live in France, I am very pleased that the French President was so well-received here. We have never expected a lot out of France, which is considered anti-Israel with hundreds of anti-Semitic incidents. Suddenly, we discover that France can be Israel’s partner in the face of the upcoming agreement between the western powers and Iran.”
The French-born editor added, “French Jews…they preferred Sarkozy, as he was good for Israel, although Hollande isn’t bad for her either.”
