MK Shaked: Yesh Atid is Invited to Leave the Coalition

Chairwoman Ayelet Shaked of the Bayit Yehudi (Jewish Home) Knesset faction attacked Minister Ya'akov Perry in Tuesday's edition of Ma'ariv after he said the Yesh Atid party will not yield on criminal sanctions in a proposed law to extend national service to the hareidi-religious sector. Saying, "If Minister Perry wants to resign from the government, he is invited to resign from it," she added, "The hareidim will be happy to enter in place of Yesh Atid, so Perry's words are not really a threat. I believe in democracy and not the dictatorship of Yesh Atid, which is not allowing the committee I head to make the decision on sanctions."

Shaked made it clear that despite those words, she would try to reach agreement with other members of the committee drafting the law regarding sanctions and formulate a consensus around economic sanctions.
