'Naqba Film Festival' to Take Place in Tel Aviv

At the end of this month, the Tel Aviv Cinematque will be hosting 3-day festival - the first of its kind - 'The Naqba Film Festival'. 11 films have been entered into the festival by ten Israeli filmmakers and one Jewish filmmaker from South Africa.

Talking to Arutz Sheva,  Lia Tarachansky, whose film "The Roadside" will be opening the festival, commented that the South African filmmaker used to donate to the Jewish National Fund until she discovered trees had been planted on the ruins of an Arab village that has been uprooted in 1948. In Tarachansky's film, she speaks with ex-members of the Palmach (the elite fighting force of the Hagana) in order to, as she put it, reveal what they remember - and what they are repressing.
