ZAKA Joins International Effort in Philippines

The rescue organization ZAKA has joined the international efforts to bring aid to the victims of typhoon Haiyan, which recently devastated the Philippines.

A group of volunteers from Israel and the US, under the command of Mati Goldstein, the Commander of ZAKA's International Unit, arrived in the Phillipines this past weekend. The delegation consists of senior paramedics and EMT professionals with vast experience in disaster relief throughout the world. 

The group arrived Friday and was hosted for Shabbat in the capital city of Manila by Rabbi Yossi Levy, Chabad emissary for Chabad of the Philippines which has put itself at the disposal of the ZAKA volunteers for support and help.
