Moments ago French President Francois Hollande and entourage landed at Ben Gurion International Airport for his first official visit to Israel.
The French President plans to meet with Prime MInister Benyamin Netanyahu and several top Israeli officials to discuss several issues, with Iran being at the top of the list. Israel has attached great importance in France's strong position in regards to Iran's potential development of nuclear weapons, as opposed to some of the other Western countries, including the United States. President Hollande will also visit the Knesset and will address the entire plenum.
Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein noted that "it is a great honor to be able to host the President of France, a loyal friend of Israel."
"The French President is a courageous ally, and I am happy he has decided to address the Knesset. I believe this visit will prove to be significant to both of our countries," Edelstein said.
