Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood Offers Solution to Crisis

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood has offered an initiative which they say would alleviate the present crisis with the (Egyptian) military. As a sign of the softening of the position of the Muslim Brother’s stance toward the army-backed government, the National Alliance of Legitimacy (a coalition of Islamists which demand the reinstatement of deposed President Mohammed Morsi), said it is ready to enter a dialogue and so bring an end to the stalemate between itself and government forces.

According to Al Ahram, Mohammed Bishr, a leading Brotherhood member, told journalists that the initiative would remain on the table for the next two weeks.

Thus far it is not clear how the interim government will respond.
