The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court today (Thursday) sentenced Yehuda Doron, the ex-treasurer of Kibbutz Shevayim, to 8.5 years for his part in the embezzlement of NIS 16.5 million and a myriad of other financial crimes. He received an additional 12 months probation, plus a fine of NIS 1.5 million. He has been directed to compensate the kibbutz for damages in the amount of NIS 500,000, which is to be paid by March 1, 2014.
He was convicted of theft by a person holding power of attorney, receiving goods fraudulently, falsification of corporate documents, fraud and breaach of trust. He was also convicted of several counts of tax fraud.
His wife was convicted of theft and assisting her husband in his embezzlement.
