NATO: Leave Patriot Missiles in Turkey

NATO allies backed keeping Patriot missiles in Turkey yesterday (Wednesday), in agreement with Ankara that the threats from Syria’s civil war remained serious, an official of the organization said.

"Ambassadors noted that the instability along NATO's southeastern border requires ... the extension of the deployment of the Patriot missiles," he said. "The nature of the mission will remain defensive only," the spokesman added.
