Housing Minister Ariel Downplays "Reprimand" Over Homes

Minister of Housing Uri Ariel (Bayit Yehudi) downplayed what was described as a "reprimand" from Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu over new housing tenders. He explained that the Peace Now organization's complaint that tenders had been announced for 20,000 new homes in Judea and Samaria are actually only in the preparatory planning stages and it could take six to seven years to break ground. He added that Prime Minister Netanyahu explained that new housing starts is a diplomatically sensitive issue but that the discussion was not a reprimand.
