Prosecution Requests Death Penalty for Boston Bomber

The Prosecutor for The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is expected to request the death penalty in the case of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the main participants in the Boston Marathon bombing of last April.

A final verdict is expected sometime next week, but representatives of the prosecutor's office told the court that this would be the penalty that would be asked for in the case of the 20-year-old Tsarnaev, who executed the terror attack together with his brother, Tamerlan, who was killed in confrontations with police several days after the attack.

The April 15 terror blasts resulted in four deaths, including that of a policeman who was shot to death by the brothers, and more than 260 injured.
