Minister of Transport MK Yisrael Katz figures that the proposed strike to be held this coming Monday by port workers, though likely to take place, is doomed to failure.
The Minister participated today (Tuesday) in the Shippers Council Conference that took place in Tel Aviv, speaking to the the port workers' threats to implement a general strike this coming Monday.
"I'm skeptical about being able to prevent this Monday's strike, but the strike will be in vain as it will not prevent the plan for the building of two additional ports from coming to fruition, whether they strike a week, a month or a year," he said.
"There will be no bargaining and no discrimination. I will not allow the ports to be crippled, and I won't permit the ports to be turned upside down by the workers," he added.
