The Likud Executive Committee, chaired by Deputy Minister of Defense Danny Danon, will be convening this evening (Sunday) to discuss the increased demand for the dissolution of the Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu union.
A report by Yediot Aharonot stated that in their upcoming December conference, Likud members would be voting on whether to continue or dissolve the union between the two parties.
Certain senior Likud officials have stated that, “This union has only damaged the Likud. Within the party there are initiatives to curb all attempts by Lieberman to enter or have any control within the Likud. We intend to bring the matter to a vote. Likud Chairman, Prime Minister Netanyahu, has no wish to dissolve the partnership between the parties.”
In the next two weeks, Chairman of Yisrael Beiteinu, Avigdor Lieberman, also intends to bring the matter of whether or not to continue the relationship before the members of his party.
