Protest Against Police Abuse of Jewish Farmer

A protest took place Wednesday outside the home of Major General Nitzan Alon, Head of Central Command over complaints of abuse. The demonstrators decried the use of administrative detentions and restraining orders, specifically in the case of Boaz Albert, a farmer from Yitzhar.

Albert made headlines when he returned to his home despite a distancing order and was repeatedly shocked with an electroshock weapon.

Police broke up the protest and arrested several people. Representing those arrested at the protest, attorney Naftali Warzberger of the Honenu legal aid organization said that Gen. Alon's tactics were undemocratic.
