Moshe Fadlon was elected mayor of Herzliya in a second round of voting that took place Tuesday. "This is an historic moment for Herzliya. I intend to be the mayor for everyone," he stated. Fadlon, who enjoyed the support of the Bayit Yehudi (Jewish Home) party and other factions gained 61.3% of the vote compared to candidate Zvika Hadar who earned 38.7% of the electorate.
Polls opened on Tuesday in 38 communities where none of the candidates won over 40% of the vote in the first round. Most of the almost 200 communities that held municipal elections on October 22nd had a clear winner.
