Treasury Makes $75 Million Hedging Deal

The Debt Management Unit at the Account General Division announced that they today (Tuesday) had made a foreign debt USD-Shekel transaction in the amount of $75 million.

These types of transactions, in which the State converts dollar liabilities to shekel liabilities to eliminate the effect of the exchange rate on the hedged debt, are performed regularly as part of the risk management of the government debt in order to reduce the exposure of the government debt portfolio to foreign currency fluctuations.
