The National Labor Court on Monday evening ordered the striking workers of the Ashdod port to return to work. The workers had stopped unloading new cars, citing new working conditions imposed by management. The court said in its ruling that the workers may continue to work under the previous conditions.
Avi Edri, chairman of the transportation workers’ union at the Histadrut, said following the court ruling, "We are pleased that the court accepted the arguments of the Histadrut. However, it should be noted that negotiations have always been the way to achieve things. I call on management to discuss all the issues under dispute and reach agreed solutions.”
