Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest gains to start the trading week, Sunday. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,171.46, up .65 percent, while the TA 100 rose six tenths of a percent to 1,168.79, including a rise of .41 percent to 1,293.42 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,051.86, up 1.18 percent.
Leading the gainers was the biomed index, which rose .89 percent to 993.89, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 320.40, up .13 percent. The oil and natural-gas stocks advanced .85 percent to 1,293.21, followed by the real-estate index, which stood at 375.25, up three quarters of a percent. The insurance issues gained .22 percent to 1,521.88 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,253.77, down .01 percent, including a gain of .15 percent to 1,279.54 by the bank stocks.
