Egypt: We'll Find Other Partners Than U.S.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmi said that his country is searching for partners other than the United States to help meet Egypt's security needs.

In anticipation of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's upcoming visit, the first since the overthrow of former President Mohammed Morsi, Fahmi told Reuters that the meeting is "to be an open dialogue between friends".  He stressed the importance of the  U.S.-Egyptian relationship, but noted that his country is seeking partners besides the United States since the Americans had partially frozen their contribution to Egypt due to the political instability it was experiencing.
