Police raided a number of facilities belonging to entities associated with organized crime, Friday morning in Ramle, southeast of Tel Aviv, as part of an effort against organized crime. A home workshop for making ten-shekel pieces was seized, including a press, molds, raw material and hundreds of coins suspected of being counterfeit. Also seized was Israeli and foreign currency, and weapons valued at hundreds of thousands of shekels.
About ten suspects were detained for questioning. Decisions were pending about extension of the remand of the central suspects.
