Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading week, Thursday, with modest gains. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,163.92, up .16 percent from Wednesday's close, while the TA 100 rose .27 percent to 1,161.77, including a gain of four tenths of a percent to 1,288.19 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 closed at 1,039.61, down 1.84 percent.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which climbed 1.22 percent to 753.34, followed by the bank issues, which stood at 1,277.57, up .97 percent, as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,253.95, up nine tenths of a percent, including a rise of .64 percent to 1,518.58 by the insurance stocks. The oil and natural-gas index advanced .61 percent to 1,282.26 while the real-estate issues stood at 372.46, up .16 percent. Most of the technology stocks fell an average of 1.26 percent to 320.00 while the biomed index stood at 985.15, down 1.95 percent.
