New Book on Military Ethics Debate Terrorist Releases

A new book entitled Jewish Military Ethics debates issues such as the morality of releasing terrorists as part of a gesture for negotiations or in a prisoner exchange deal. The book was written by Rabbi Ido Rechnitz and Rabbi Elazar Goldstein and published by Yedioth Books and the Mishpetay Eretz Institute - the Higher Institute for Halacha and Law. The book is interspersed with stories of soldiers who were cited for bravery in the field. Debates on the purity of arms, behavior during combat, and self-sacrifice are discussed from a Torah point of view.
