Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday trading with modest gains. About 90 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,172.12, up .34 percent from Monday's close, while the TA 100 rose .36 percent to 1,168.27, including a gain of .48 percent to 1,291.52 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,070.89, down .02 percent.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which climbed 1.1 percent to 756.33. The bank issues stood at 1,251.27, up .95 percent, as the financial institutions advanced three quarters of a percent to 1,229.54, including a rise of .07 percent to 1,504.55 by the insurance stocks. The oil and natural-gas index gained .54 percent to 1,262.02, while the real-estate issues stood at 370.86, up .16 percent. Most of the technology stocks slipped .01 percent to 333.22, while the biomed index stood at 1,022.56, down .41 percent.
