Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday-morning trading but the bottom line was in negative territory. Just under an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,174.61, down .03 percent, while the TA 100 slipped .08 percent to 1,170.22, including a loss of .09 percent to 1,292.13 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,081.23, up .73 percent.
Driving the picture down was the communications index, which fell 1.41 percent to 753.03. Leading the gainers were the biomed issues, which stood at 1,035.17, up .41 percent, while the rest of the technology stocks rose .24 percent to 335.66. The financial institutions advanced two tenths of a percent to 1,224.69, the bank index stood at 1,245.79 while the insurance issues edged up .07 percent to 1,505.80. The real-estate stocks stood at 370.42, up .03 percent, while the oil and natural-gas index was virtually unchanged at 1,263.28.
