The authorities are looking into the accidental discharge of a police weapon at a Chino, California elementary school yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
No one noticed a boy had approached a police motorcycle during an outdoor school assembly to examine the AR-15 rifle, and who then pulled the trigger.
Two boys suffered minor injuries from metal debris which resulted from the bullet’s impact on a metal plate where the gun barrel rests against the weapons mount. A third student was treated on site and released to his parents.
The rifle was never removed from the mount.
