Hundreds are expected at the annual memorial for Rabbi Meir Kahane. Family members and colleagues will speak. Rabbi Kahane was a Member of Knesset in the mid-1980s. He advocated paying Arabs in Israel to be repatriated to their indigenous countries of origin. He founded the Jewish Defense League in the United States in the 1960s which protested on behalf of Soviet Jewry. He was assassinated in 1990 by Arab terrorists affiliated with the group that later bombed the World Trade Center in 1993. The memorial event will take place Thursday evening October 24th at Heichal David in Jerusalem.
