Labor Leader Calls to Fight Poverty and Voter Apathy
Member of Knesset Yitzchak Herzog a top leader in the Labor Party lamented Israeli poverty and low voter turnout in a speech to members of the World Jewish Congress. "The local government elections were fascinating, but the low participation rate is very worrying," he stated. Addressing poverty and unemployment he stated, "we feel the public demands a more just distribution of wealth in a democratic way."
