Chairman Eli Yishai of the Homefront Preparedness Subcommittee has ordered a special meeting of the Homefront Preparedness Committee for next Monday as part of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting, in the wake of the five light earthquakes that have hit the Galilee region of northern Israel since Thursday.
Yishai said, Tuesday, "The wave of earthquakes affecting the region requires a comprehensive examination of the state and the homefront's readiness for any possible scenario that could come as a result of earthquakes. Moreover, we must not ignore the symptoms which recently beset us." He said the purpose of the subcommittee meeting was "to examine the state's readiness, indicate if there are deficiencies and demand corrective measures as soon as possible. We must look at every situation possible and not be complacent."
