The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest gains in mixed early Tuesday-morning trading. About 75 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,183.47, up .13 percent, while the TA 100 rose .09 percent to 1,178.85, including a gain of .11 percent to 1,305.52 by the TA 25 most-widely-held issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,096.57.
Leading the gainers was the oil and natural-gas index, which advanced .91 percent to 1,235.46. Most of the technology issues stood at 338.92, up .49 percent, while the biomed stocks declined .81 percent to 1,053.74. The insurance index gained .44 percent to 1,493.37 as the financial institutions stood at 1,228.81, up .43 percent, including a rise of .38 percent to 1,260.33 by the bank issues. The real-estate stocks stood at 368.12, down .08 percent, and the communications index fell .49 percent to 809.68.
