Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday-morning trading with modest gains. About 25 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,183.33, up .02 percent, while the TA 100 slipped .03 percent to 1,178.96, including a drop of .12 percent to 1,304.08 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,090.76, up .84 percent.
Leading the gainers was the oil and natural-gas index, which rose .53 percent to 1,232.34, followed by the communications issues, which stood at 816.56, up .27 percent, while the real estate stocks advanced .18 percent to 369.94. A gain of .15 percent to 1,500.87 by the insurance index was countered by a decline of .13 percent to 1,251.93 among the bank issues as the financial institutions stood at 1,223.82, down .04 percent. Most of the technology stocks gained .07 percent to 335.75, while the biomed index stood at 1,077.35, up .03 percent.
