Buoyed by the nomination of Acting Governor Karnit Flug to be governor of the Bank of Israel, most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange finished Sunday's first da of the trading week with modest to moderate gains. The Tel Aviv Composite Index closed at 1,183.10, up .64 percent, while the TA 100 rose .66 percent to 1,179.27, including a gain of seven tenths of a percent to 1,305.67 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,087.70, up .28 percent.
Leading the gainers was most of the technology index, which climbed 1.44 percent to 335.53, while the biomed issues fell 1.37 percent to 1,076.98. The bank stocks stood at 1,253.57, up 1.04 percent as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,224.37, up .64 percent, including an advance of three tenths of a percent to 1,498.65 by the insurance index. The communications issues advanced .93 percent to 814.39 and the real-estate stocks stood at 369.29, up .47 percent, while the oil and natural-gas index rose .46 percent to 1,225.79.
