Egypt denied, Thursday, a report by Amnesty International that it is abusing refugees from Syria's civil war. The report accused Egyptian authorities of carrying out illegal arrests and deporting hundreds of the more than 300,000 Syrian refugees now hosted by the Cairo government.
A Foreign Ministry statement said the report was inaccurate and did not reflect the real situation. It said the refugees were being treated with dignity in the fields of education and health. Earlier this week, Amnesty accused the government of firing on anti-government demonstrators.
