The official value of the shekel rose an average of .105 percent, Thursday, in mixed trading against the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.535, down .535 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro rose .224 percent to 4.823 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at 5.6835 shekels, down .31 percent, and 100 Japanese yen declined .119 percent to NIS 3.6111. The Australian dollar advanced .295 percent to NIS 3.3995 while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.4316 shekels, up an eighth of a percent. The Norwegian krone gained .711 percent to NIS .5951 and the South African rand was fixed at .3602 shekels, up 1.123 percent.
