A number of street closings went into effect around Jerusalem's Sanhedria cemetery at 3:30 Sunday afternoon, ahead of observances to mark the end of the shiv'ah initial seven-day mourning period for Rabbi Ovadia Yoseph. The closings are scheduled to remain in effect until 10:30 p.m. The cemetery itself was closed at 2:00 p.m.
The affected streets are Bar-Ilan, Eshkol Boulevard, Golda Meir, Shmuel Hanavi and Yirmiyahu. The police are asking motorists on Route 443 to use Begin Boulevard and Derech Bar Lev. Bus service in the area has been rerouted.
