The Lahav 433 police unit has been conducting an investigation into alleged illegal activities of two Beit Din (court of Jewish Law) district judges the in Tel Aviv and Petach Tikva areas regarding divorce cases appearing before them.
Police stated this week, that after receiving the okay from the Attorney General, they cautiously questioned the two judges under investigation: Rabbi Moshe Ohanona, District Beit Din Judge for Petah Tikva, and Rabbi Dov Damov, District Beit Din Judge for Tel Aviv. The two are under suspicion of fraud, breach of trust, coerced testimony and obstruction of justice.
The men were released under retricted conditions. The matter is still under investigation.
