Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange reported modest gainsThursday morning. Just over an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,170.06, up .31 percent, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,164.12 for the TA 100, including a gain of .28 percent to 1,289.69 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,105.06, up a quarter of a percent.
Leading the gainers was the biomed index, which climbed 1.71 percent to 1,030.30, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 330.95, up .24 percent. The communications stocks advanced one and a half percent to 798.27 and the real-estate index stood at 372.25, up .49 percent, while the oil and natural-gas issues rose .34 percent to 1,297.00. The insurance stocks stood at 1,504.70, up .05 percent as the financial institutions declined .23 percent to 1,217.39, drawn down by a .61-percent loss to 1,235.68 by the bank index.
