Labor's Yachimovich Admits Smoking Pot in the Past

Opposition leader Shelly Yachimovich, head of the Labor party, acknowledged that she tried marijuana in her youth. In an interview program on the Knesset Channel, she responded that "when I was young, I smoked recreational drugs a few times. The last time I did it was 16 years ago." She expressed her opinion that seriously ill patients should be allowed to smoke cannabis to alleviate medical conditions.

MK Yachimovich has been a Member of Knesset since 2006. Prior to her political career she was a successful journalist and popular talk show host and radio personality.
