Council of Torah Sages Comes Out for Moshe Lion

In a special meeting convened by the Council of Torah Sages last night (Tuesday), it was decided to formally back Moshe Lion as candidate for mayor of Jerusalem in the upcoming elections.

The Council of Torah Sages, together with the Sepharadic Rabbis, put out a communique stating that "Maran (Most Respected of Rabbis) Rabbi Haim Ovadia Yosef, zt"l, had placed his trust many time before, and because he is our Maran,  we will be going out on Tuesday, the 18th of Cheshvan (Oct. 22) to vote for Moshe Lion as Mayor of Jerusalem, that he should have success in furthering the welfare of our people."
