Israel’s Chief Rabbis – Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef and Rabbi David Lau – have asked people to cease working during Rabbi Ovadia Yosef’s (z”l) funeral this evening. The funeral procession will be leaving Yeshiva Porat Yosef at 18:00.
At 18:00 hours Yosef family members will be exiting the Yeshiva to complete the final transfer arrangements from Hadassa-Ein Kerem Hospital.
It is from this time that the Chief Rabbis are asking for a complete work stoppage until after the funeral.
From 15:00 hours Shmuel Hanavi Street, Eshkol Blvd., Golda Meir, Bar Ilan, Yerimiyahu, Malchei Yisrael and Yehezkiel Streets will be closed for the funeral procession.
Heavy traffic is anticipated on the following roads into Jerusalem: 1,4,5,6,444 and 443.
