Shalom: Iran Only Wants Talks to Remove Sanctions
Minister Silvan Shalom said, Friday, "Iran wants to open a dialogue about its nuclear program because its economy is in a terrible state and they want to lower economic pressure and ease the sanctions." In a lecture to members of the commercial - industrial club in Tel Aviv, he added, "Iran's goal of acquiring nuclear weapons for military purposes has not changed."
Shalom also said, "Once Iran has a nuclear bomb, Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia will want a bomb of their own and the whole region will change completely. Under a situation like this, when our neighbors have nuclear weapons aimed at the cities of Israel, who will want to live in Israel? That's the big danger."
