Deputy Religious Affairs Minister Eli Ben-Dahan was given the honor, Friday morning, of affixing a mezuzah to a new cultural center in Shdema, just south of Jerusalem. Rabbi Ben-Dahan promised the hundreds in attendance at the ceremony that he would do all he could to develop the site. He said a there would be a synagogue, noting that a Torah scroll had been donated. He added, "There will be a big Jewish community in Shdema and, with G-d's help, Israeli sovereignty here and in all parts of Judea and Samaria (Shomron)."
Chairman Davidi Perl of the Gush Etzion Regional Council cited "the uncompromising insistence" of the Women in Green for Israel's Tomorrow, led by Nadia Matar and Yehudit Katsover.
