A dive in the last hour of trading, Thursday, resulted in modest to moderate losses on the last day of the trading week for the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,143.26, down .95 percent from Wednesday's close, while the TA 100 declined 1.01 percent to 1,136.91, including a drop of 1.13 percent to 1,257.64 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,091.49, down .52 percent.
Worst hit was the communications index, which plummeted 3.07 percent to 757.52, followed by the oil and natural-gas issues, which stood at 1,258.65, down 1.76 percent. Most of the technology stocks lost 1.57 percent to 331.03, while the biomed index stood at 1,018.33, down 1.24 percent, and the real-estate issues fell 1.14 percent to 358.36. The insurance stocks stood at 1,439.16, down .93 percent as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,185.72, down .91 percent, and the bank issues declined six tenths of a percent to 1,217.58.
