Popular Dance DJ David Guetta to Play Masada

About 2,000 years ago, Jewish rebels held out against the Roman legions. Now, Jewish ravers will party at the foot of the famous Mount Masada as part of the 2013 Dead Sea Rave Festival. French DJ David Guetta is the headliner. The popular music producer's father is of Moroccan Jewish heritage. He had a string of #1 hit songs in the United Kingdom in 2009 and  was ranked best DJ in the world in 2011 in the DJ Mag Top 100 fan poll.

The event will take place on October 17th. Also performing will be Steve Angello, a Greek-Swedish DJ famous for his group the Swedish House Mafia. The Israeli trance performers Infected Mushroom will play as well. Masada is a popular tourist destination where both Israelis and visitors from abroad to view the Jewish stronghold. At the foot of the site is a concert area where popular musicians, classical performances, opera and other events take place.

Israel is known as a must-stop stop for DJs and electronic music performers. It is considered the home of a unique genre of style of trance that developed in the 1990s.
